About JC YUP

JC YUP is a pioneering initiative created and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, designed to unlock social mobility potential of youth in Hong Kong.

Our Mission

It supports secondary students through critical stages of growth – from junior secondary to early career, by creating proud experience, offering eye-opening real-world exposure and alternative pathways, building up resilience to progress.

Our Approach

JC YUP is also the first youth development project in Hong Kong to adopt an adaptive intervention model, ensuring our support is tailored to meet each student’s individual needs and pace of growth. In partnership with Hong Kong Examination and Assessment Authority (HKEAA), a novel Report Card 360 (RC360) is designed to profile holistically the values, attitudes, skills and knowledge (VASK) of every student, showcasing their full potential beyond academic grades.

Our Impact

Collaborating with 25 partners including schools, NGOs, universities and employers, JC YUP will benefit 30,000 students across 50 secondary schools over 5 years.

About the Trust

The Hong Kong Jockey Club's history of donating to charitable causes can be traced back to 1915. In the 1950s, as Hong Kong struggled with post-war reconstruction and a large influx of migrants, we made this role a key part of our operations. Since then, we have worked to improve the lives of Hong Kong people through programmes that engage our community, driving progress through positive change.

In 1993, to better reflect the evolving nature, scale, and scope of our donations, a new entity was established: The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Today, it is recognised as one of the world's leading charity donors.

Our commitment to the betterment of our society is founded on four core values that guide us in everything we do: world-class leadership, uncompromising integrity, continuous development and serving the community.

With these values as our bedrock, the Trust works with the government, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and community partners to actively identify the most pressing social needs and implement initiatives to address them. Together we collaborate to foster a caring and inclusive community.
